- 1947 Started as Intermediate College at Basirhat Town Hall.
- 1951 Foundation Stone was laid by Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukhopadhyay at the present location of the College.
- 1957 Opening of B.A. Course and recognised by UGC under section 2(f).
- 1960 Opening of B.Com Course.
- 1961 Inauguration of New Building of the College.
- 1962 Residence of Khan Bahadur named as College Hostel.
- 1965 Formulation of Constitution of the College as Private College and formation of Governing Body and functioning of the College as per Statute of the University of Calcutta.
- 1968 Opening of B.Sc. (Pure) Course.
- 1980 Opening of B.Sc. (Bio) Course.
- 1986 Diamond Jubilee Conference of West Bengal College and University Teachers’ Association.
- 2003 First Volume of Teachers’ Council’s multidisciplinary academic journal – CHARCHA published.
- 2004 UGC Sponsored State Level Seminar on War: A Threat to Civilization and Human Progress.
- 2006 Construction work of Auditorium and UGC Building started
- 2007 Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the College
- 2009 Construction work of the UGC Building completed and it has been added to the infrastructure of the College.
- 2010 Launching of the College Website.
