Welcome to Basirhat College

In mid-November 1947 Basirhat College was founded and since then it has been standing for more than half a century on the banks of river Icchamati, which flows by this ancient seat of learning and culture that has witnessed many souls of the soil rise to eminence.

Course Offered

The College offers both Honours and General Courses of study in 3 streams, viz. Science, Arts and Commerce.

The College runs three sections viz., Morning, Day and Evening

Library

The College Library is just sufficient to meet the immediate requirements of the students. The books – both text &reference, journals, collection of papers would amount to about 20,000 to which every year materials are added from the UGC Grant and the College fund..

Examinations

Selection Test for the students of 3rd. year Hons. Courses is scheduled to be held on and from 09.03.2011 (Wednesday).

Selection Test for the students of 2nd. year Hons. and General Courses is scheduled to be held on and from 14.03.2011 (Monday).

Selection Test for the students of 1st. year Hons. Courses is scheduled to be held on and from 02.04.2011 (Saturday).
